The Protean

The Protean Battery from Block Battery is the first camera battery to offer five power solutions in one small, powerful, and light weight package. While preparing for a production it’s not unusual to need both 14volt and 28volt batteries with a variety of mounts to support production equipment. The Protean provides a quick and easy configuration between 14volt and 28volt batteries with a variety of mount configurations to protect your most expensive equipment. The Protean also provides a quick and easy way to prepare a 150 watt lithium battery for shipping and travel. When configured as a 14G battery, the Protean provides a D-Tap and compatibility to all “Three Stud Mounts” 14volt Batteries. When configured as a 28G battery, the Protean has no D-Tap and is compatible with the Gold Mount Plus battery plates designed for 26volt on camera batteries. The Protean can also be switched to a 28B mount to make the Protean compatible with 28volt B-Mount style mounts. And finally the Protean can be switched to the 14V mount that makes the Protean compatible with the 14volt V-Lock style mount with a standard industry D-Tap. In travel mode, the Protean is configured as two mechanically and electrically isolated 75whr batteries making it easy to carry-on or ship as needed.
